February PetGiftBox

PetGiftBox is a subscription box with a different theme every month. The boxes come in three different sizes, petite which is under 20 pounds, mid-sized which is 20-50 pounds, and hefty which is above 50 pounds. I ordered the petite box despite my dog thinking she runs the place. They also have a box for cats which I hope to try one day.

I expected the February box to be love themed but I was mistaken...

Football was the theme for this month and I must admit they captured all the best parts about it. Starting with the card advertising the items. Bonus points to them for the pun.

Now let's to the nitty gritty. The first item I pulled out was grilled treats. It's not a tailgate party without grilling right? Now your dog can partake as well. These items items are made in the USA and are appropriately sized for my little dog. She loves beef and sweet potato so these are a winner! I found prices ranging from $3-$7. Side note, I need that chefs hat when I'm cooking in the kitchen with my dog.

Next I pulled out a a bag of soft treats. These are beer themed which of course go with the beer theme. My dog loves these. I pulled one to take a picture so that you can see the size and she kept taking them the moment I removed my hand. Lets just say it took a couple of tries to take the photo. Another made in USA item with a retail price of between $5-$10. As I said my dog loved them...here's to hoping she doesn't develop an addiction.

Dog beer. Who knew such a thing existed. As a disclaimer I don't drink alcohol so my friends got a real good laugh on my dog having beer but I won't touch the stuff. On the plus side is is non-alcoholic and promotes healthy joints so what do you know, it's healthy! The closest estimate I could come too for one bottle was $5 though they do sell them in 6-packs like regular beer.

We've covered food and beer but what good is a tailgate party without a bowl to drink said beer out of? According to the label people can use the bowl for things too and a multi-purpose item is always a plus. Non-skid, non-tip, and BPA free makes this bowl a winner! The company website lists three different sizes with prices ranging from $9-$15. The one I received is a large so the price is $15. They also sell bowls for soccer and basketball if that's more your thing.

Last but not least, you of course need a football squeak toy to toss around with your dog. Hopefully your dog is the type to bring toys back, unlike my dog who just hoards them. This toy can be gotten for under $5 and it seems to hold up well though I'd be weary if you have a big dog.

And there you have the February box. A one month subscription costs $29 and everything added up gives you a value of $33-$42. The company bills monthly, rather than taking out a yearly subscription in a lump sum so that's a huge plus for my wallet.

All in all, the box was alright. Obviously football heavy and not being a football fan, I might be a little biased. All that matters is my dog enjoyed everything and that it didn't break the wallet. She's happy so I'm happy. I look forward to next month and I'm curious to if it'll be basketball themed or St. Patrick's Day theme.
